New AHRC Data Management Plan template

Sun, 18/02/2018 - 12:44
The Arts and Humanities Research Council is making some significant changes to its research data policy implementation. From Monday 29th March 2018, it is removing its requirement for a Technical Plan and as such disbanding its Technical College. In its place will be a requirement to submit a Data Management Plan. This will be mandatory for all Research Grants, Follow on Funding and Leadership Fellows proposals. There will be a period of crossover between Technical Plans and Data Management Plans when both plans are in the system. Any proposals that are being considered for submission should start using the Data Management Plan. As such, the DCC has added the new template to its DMPonline tool. Now, when you select the AHRC as your funder, two template options appear. We will retire the AHRC Technical Plan template when the new requirements are in force. We're hiring - come and join us

Mon, 18/12/2017 - 16:01
We've got a new job opening at the DCC following the departure of Jonathan Rans, our training and skills lead, in November. We're looking for someone to join us in Edinburgh as a Research Data Specialist who will take the lead in our programme of skills development. The job, however, is about much more than training. Depending on your skills and interests you'll spend time on other areas of DCC activity as well. In recent months, these have included consultancy for universities in the UK and Malaysia, for funders such as the ERC and Wellcome Trust and for UK national research facilities. We're also partners in European initiatives such as EOSCPilot, RDA Europe 4 and Openaire and run services such as DMPonline for customers around the world. There's also our annual conference, IDCC, Uk events such as the Research Data Management Forum and much more. We offer flexible working practices and a supportive working environment with a diverse and friendly team in Edinburgh and Glasgow. We encourage applications from all communities. Applications close at 1700 GMT on Monday January 15th. We expect interviews to be in the week commencing February 5th. To apply, you'll need to use the University of Edinburgh's online recruitment system. If you already have experience in digital curation or research data management and experience of creating or delivering training, this is an ideal opportunity to broaden your knowledge and experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
