About the centre:

The Digital Design Studio (DDS) is a postgraduate research and commercial centre of Glasgow School of Art. Its intense learning and research environment exploits the interface between science, technology and the arts to explore imaginative and novel uses of advanced 3D digital visualisation and interaction technologies. Research activity at the DDS is underpinned by one and two year masters degrees and a growing PhD community. The DDS is dedicated to developing ways in which people can engage and interact with data and emerging digital visualisation systems.

ARLIS UK & Ireland Art Archives Committee This study day is aimed at art and design practitioners, archivists and other information professionals, museum professionals and students interested in exploring the opportunities and challenges associated with born-digital objects. The day will look at the creation, management, development, preservation of and access to these objects. Survey: Virtual Research Environment Collaboartive Landscape Study

The VRE Collaborative Landscape Study project is one of several studies commissioned by the UK Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) to research on-line research collaboration in Virtual Research Environments (VREs). The focus of our study is to scope developments in VREs around the world and set them in relation to the activities in the UK.

The study aims to stimulate debate about the benefits of research collaboration facilitated by Virtual Research Environments so as to assist the JISC to provide services and strategies to support it. [read more...]
