Lecturer: Screen Studies

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Lecturer: Screen Studies, is responsible for the delivery and coordination of courses in the School. This position will also assume responsibility for the supervision of postgraduate research students. The incumbent will conduct teaching and related activities, publish and engage in research and consult with students as part of the teaching team. This includes data creation, curation, preservation, management (including rights and legal issues), access and dissemination, and methodologies of data use and re-use. Its membership is open to all such centres in Great Britain and Ireland.

Reflectance Transformation Imaging of Inscriptions: a workshop at the
Manchester Museum; Wednesday 21st September, 10am - 4pm.

Dr George Bevan and Prof Daryn Lehoux (Queen's University, Canada) will
lead a workshop demonstrating the use of 'reflectance transformation
imaging' in the study of inscribed objects (on metal and stone). The
aim of the day is both to provide a general introduction to the
technique and its potential, and to provide opportunities for hands-on
practice (using material from the collections of the Manchester Museum). [read more...]
