project: Databasing key documents and narrative chronologies of artists' film and video distributors in the UK

The project created a database – the Film and Video Distribution Database (FVDD) – of chronological information and key documents relating to artists'/independent film and video distributors in the UK from the 1960s to date, which have been collected as part of two AHRB funded research projects. The database will be accessible via its own URL and via the British Artists Film and Video Study Collection. [read more]

This pop-up exhibtion, curated by Tom Sowden, examines innovative ways in which the laser cutter is being utilised by artists and designers working with paper. Featuring work from national and international artists such as Hyperquake, Ingrid Siliakus and Jenny Smith, the work highlights good practice and how the attributes of a laser cutter can be harnessed in order to produce new works. Use letterpress to create beautifully printed posters, pamphlets, books, cards, broadsides, bookmarks etc.We have a good selection of letterpress fonts and ornaments to use in this creative process. You will be taught how to hand set metal and wood type and print editions on the Vandercook presses.
