Members of the digital preservation community are invited to join leading researchers and developers from the Planets project for their end of project conference in Berlin.

For the first time in the four-year project, the conference will bring together the entire Planets team alongside colleagues from outside of the consortium to reflect on what the project set out to achieve, the lessons learnt, the outputs of the project as well as looking to future directions in digital preservation. Preserving the British Library’s C19 Newspaper Collection: Planets Film Released

Planets (Preservation and Long-term Access Through Networked Services) has released the first of four filmed and written studies to show how national libraries and archives in Europe are using Planets tools to preserve large and valuable digital collections.

PREMIS in METS Toolbox

The Library of Congress and the Florida Center for Library Automation (FCLA) are pleased to announce the availability of the PREMIS-In-METS Toolbox at http://pim.fcla.edu. The PREMIS-in-METS Toolbox is a set of open-source tools developed to support the implementation of PREMIS preservation metadata in the METS container format.
